Earth Runners offers four collections of Earthing sandals for adults, which differ based on sole thickness (thin, mid and thick) and sole type (Vibram or Walkbase). Each collection also comes in five to ten different colors, so there are numerous style options to choose from.
Inspired by the world-renowned Tarahumara natives of northwestern Mexico, who wear huarache running sandals on their long-distance runs, Earth Runners developed this line of minimalist grounding sandals to mimic the primal experience of being barefoot.
What makes them minimalist? Zero drop soles and No™ Toe Box for maximum comfort, better feel of the ground beneath the feet, and unencumbered toe movement.
What makes them grounded? Copper plugs within the grippy rubber outsoles conduct Earth energy into the connected conductive laces which further disperse Earth energy throughout the feet.

WHICH Earth RUnners SANDALS ARE RIGHT FOR YOU?
CHOOSE FROM four different styles
Not everyone is ready for that virtually barefoot feel, so it’s nice that Earth Runners offers a variety of sole thicknesses to suit individual preferences. They also offer a choice of lace styles with three of the soles (more on this below). Here are the four sole styles to choose from:
PRIMAL - Featuring a 7.5mm thick outsole and no footbed, the ultra-lightweight Primal is Earth Runner’s thinnest-soled grounding sandal for greatest barefoot feel. Choice of Performance or Lifestyle laces.
CHRONOS - With a medium-thick 9mm sole (7.5mm outsole and 1.5mm footbed), the Chronos offers slightly more cushioning, moisture-wicking canvas, and choice of Performance or Lifestyle laces).
CIRCADIAN - Like the Chronos, the Circadian also has a medium-thick 9mm-thick sole (7.5mm outsole and 1.5mm footbed) with moisture-wicking canvas, but differs with fixed lacing: Grounded Conductive Performance Laces.™
ALPHA - Earth Runner’s thickest grounding sandal featuring a 10.5mm sole (9mm outsole and 1.5mm footbed) for most comfort. Comes with moisture wicking canvas and choice of Lifestyle or Performance laces.

HOW DO EARTH RUNNER Laces GROUND YOU?
By way of two elements: a copper Earthing plug in the sole and conductive lacing.
When the copper plug is in contact with a natural Earth surface like sand, rock or brick, it will conduct Earth energy into the shoe. Because the laces are connected to that copper plug, they will conduct the energy coming through the plug throughout the conductive laces, which are wrapped around the feet.
What makes Earth Runner laces conductive?
They are stitched with stainless steel threads. Metals are good conductors of Earth’s electrons.
Are all Earth Runner laces the same?
No. To suit various lifestyles, Earth Runners offers two types of laces on their Primal, Chronos and Alpha sandals: Performance and Lifestyle. Both styles are equally conductive, and differ in their fit and durability. Numerous colors are available for each style.
Performance Laces - at 9/16” wide, these are the most secure lace construction and are better for hiking and water wear. Circadian sandals automatically come with Performance lacing.
Lifestyle Laces - are more flexible with a nice balance of pliability and security. They offer more comfort for casual wear and are the only lace option for kids’ grounding sandals. Earth Runners offers two types of Lifestyle laces: Classic and Ergonomic, which are denoted by color choice.
When choosing a Primal, Chronos or Alpha style grounding sandal, look for “P” or “L” when making lace color choices if lace construction matters to you. To take it a step further, if the difference between Lifestyle laces (Ergonomic vs. Classic) also matters to you, know that Charcoal-lite and Tribal are Classic, while Cloud, Sunset, Canyon Clay and Carbon are Ergonomic.

WHAT ABOUT EARTH RUNNER GROUNDING SANDALS FOR KIDS?
It can be tough to get kids to wear shoes, but Earth Runners Minimalist Children’s Sandals offers something akin to the barefoot experience they instinctively crave.
Because they are grippy and wash and travel so easily, we recommend these sandals for all sorts of kids’ daily adventures….mud and slime mixing, climbing rocks, fairy house making, yard acrobatics, walking in streams and hiking trails, and more.
In our experience, there was a learning curve when breaking them in. We needed to adjust the straps (by rotating the copper plug between the big and second toes) once or twice for comfort, but then it was ready, set, go time!
When shopping for kids’ Earth Runners, you have the same four sole thickness options as with grounding sandals for adults. All are made with Lifestyle laces.
There are five children’s sizes available: K12, K13, 1, 2, and 3. After that, options jump to a Women’s 6 / Men’s 4 and up. Here are some examples:
Can I Wear socks with these sandals?
If sandals are your go-to, and you can’t stand the thought of wearing other grounding shoes when temperatures are prohibitively cold, Earth Runners also makes toe and tabi socks to keep feet warm in their grounded sandals. These socks are specially designed for sandals which have lacing or a strap between the big and second toes (as regular socks don’t work well with thong sandals).
While the toe socks are vegan-friendly, the wool socks are cruelty-free. Although Earth Runners does not carry silver-threaded grounding socks, their toe and tabi socks will still allow Earth energy to pass from the lacing into your feet.
