As Groundz customers, we’ve learned that pictures of their leather grounding shoes can give you some idea of how they would look and feel on you; but it’s not until they’re in your hands and on your feet that you truly experience the Groundz difference.
If you enjoy regularly stuffing your feet into stiff leather, pointy-toe heels and accept blisters and bunions as the price of fashion, Groundz shoes are not for you.
Likewise, if you swear by significant arch support in your footwear, Groundz shoes probably won’t register as comfortable for you.
And if you only wear vegan clothing, Groundz shoes are definitely not for you.
On the other hand, if you prefer the comfort of soft or smooth leathers enveloping your feet like gloves, with ample toe room and the barefoot feel of thin, zero-drop soles, Groundz shoes may be the perfect fit.

Groundz’s original “coppers” line of slip ons and sandals utilizes copper rivets and leather inner soles to conduct Earth’s natural electron flow. Some have natural rubber added for traction, while others have traditional, conductive leather outer soles.
Over the last few years, Groundz has expanded their selection to now include various shoes with conductive carbonized soles and metal stitching (silver or stainless steel, depending on the shoe).
Their BIOS and (brand new!) AION lines of earthing sneakers ground you via a multilayer system with conductive stitching and carbonized pads within ultra-lightweight rubber soles.
Most recently, Groundz has grown their “coppers” line, which now includes sandals and slip ons with copper rivets, silver threading AND conductive carbonized rubber outer soles!

Carbonized, BAREFOOT-Style GROUNDING SNEAKERS FOR WOMEN AND MEN
Groundz’s offers two lines of Earthing sneakers that ground you through carbonized rubber conductive pads which are embedded within ultralightweight rubber soles: BIOS and AION.

Both lines are minimalist, or barefoot-style, with splayed toe boxes, and flexible, zero-drop, thin soles for close ground feel and freedom of movement.

Both also utilize Direct GroundSyncTM grounding technology to ground you. It starts with conductive carbonized rubber pads in the outsoles, which deliver Earth energy through two inner sole layers via conductive stainless steel stitching which comes in contact with your feet.

Ultra-lightweight, BIOS is a modern fusion of bio-based materials (like leather, bamboo and cork) with sustainable synthetic materials (like recycled plastic and recyclable rubber).

The “Coppers” Line - grounded by copper rivets and leather soles
Groundz’s original line of grounding shoes with copper includes grounded sandals, slip-ons, sneakers and ankle boots for women and men.
These classics are:
Expertly handmade with premium nubuck and smooth leathers, as well as other all-natural materials - no synthetic rubbers, fabrics, dyes, glues or plastics;
Bound together with natural clay and hand-stitched with beeswax-soaked cotton thread for durability;
Feet-friendly with anti-microbial water buffalo leather soles; and
Minimalist / barefoot design - with wide toe boxes and zero drop soles to help strengthen the feet.
Groundz Clay Slip-On Sneakers - grounded by copper
Grounding technology: 100% copper rivets in the soles conduct Earth energy into the feet. As a highly conductive metal, copper conducts electrons from natural Earth surfaces directly into the skin and into the surrounding leather inner sole, which becomes more conductive with sweat.
Some styles have natural rubber outsoles for traction: Boots, Sandals, Clay Sneakers, and NS (no-slip) Casual and NS Chic Clays.
Others have leather outer soles, which are best in dry weather (though lightly wet surfaces without puddles are fine): Chic, Classic, HP Classic, Casual and Dali Clays.
This summer, Groundz introduced a brand new hybrid copper-carbon grounding technology - now on their NEW sandals and select slip-ons: Women’s Carbon Chics and Men’s Carbon Casuals:
From a more expansive carbonized rubber outsole, ground energy can travel through the solid copper rivets and connected silver stitching, right into the feet. This groundbreaking tech brings more versatility and potentially better ground connection to the table. For simplicity, we’ve included the sandals and slip-ons with hybrid carbon-copper grounding technology in the “coppers” sections below.

CAN YOU WEAR SOCKS WITH GROUNDZ EARTHING SHOES?
While you certainly can ground in them while wearing grounding socks or regular socks made of natural fibers, we recommend wearing them on bare feet unless it’s prohibitively cold out - for optimal conductivity AND comfort!

“When you hold a pair of new Groundz shoes in your hands, you know they’re something special….Not only because you can connect to Earth’s natural energy in them, but because of their high-quality materials and craftsmanship.
I now own several pairs of Groundz’s - some are “coppers,” and some are sneakers with carbonized rubber soles. Full disclosure, Groundz gave me a few pairs for free. I liked them so much that I bought myself more!
I love the way Groundz shoes feel and look and even wear the Jeans Clay Sneakers ungrounded inside my home like slippers - they are that comfortable! They were the first barefoot-style shoes I ever wore, and I now prefer barefoot style sneakers like BIOS and AION for longer walking days or running.
My only caveat is, try to wear Groundz soft leather coppers in drier conditions. They aren’t water resistant, so they can get tarnished in rainy weather. I’d also avoid wearing them in freezing temps as the highly conductive copper rivets transfer that cold energy into your feet. (That said, I haven’t tried the new carbon-copper hybrid style yet, so don’t know if they will transfer cold the same way the classic coppers do.)

I’m also really impressed with the BIOS sneakers. Not only stylish, they are also super comfy! After testing them out over several long days of city walking, the BIOS became my new go-tos for urban adventuring. I now jog in them too!
Step loves his BIOS, as well - for both the style and comfort.
Very lightweight with barefoot style soles, the BIOS proved themselves invaluable when walking all day on concrete surfaces and even hiking along river trails. The light cushiony insoles with top layers of cork kept my feet comfy while still allowing me to feel the ground beneath my feet. After finding myself choosing them often, I bought myself a second, black pair!
To my dismay, Groundz is discontinuing the BIOS style and has just launched AION. But given their track history, I know Groundz won’t disappoint with the AION. Groundz graciously gave me a new pair of AIONs to try, and so far, they are really comfortable - just slightly heavier than the featherweight BIOS. They remind me of classic white leather from the late ‘80s & early 90s, but upgraded - with cutting edge barefoot design and grounding technology. I look forward to wearing them more often, especially on all-day adventures!”
