RAUM LEATHER GROUNDING SHOES

With a mission to “connect people back to mother earth,” California-based Raum Goods offers thoughtfully designed, well-made, eco-friendly shoes that are designed to mimic the experience of going barefoot....but with greater comfort.

Raum offers two types of grounding shoes - their original design with naturally conductive leather soles and copper rivets, and their brand new Mecca style with carbonized, conductive rubber soles (more on these grounding technologies below).

All Raum grounding shoes are minimalist / barefoot design with zero-drop soles (no arch support); most styles also feature roomy toe boxes.

All are also shipped in sustainable packaging: recycled and recyclable boxes or reusable linen bags. To further walk their talk, Raum donates 1% of their annual sales to various nonprofits and charities with similar eco-friendly values.

Note: Because many Raum shoes have leather outer soles, slippage may occur. Choose Mecca style with rubber soles if concerned about traction. Also, because most Raum soles and uppers are predominantly made of leather, Raum grounding shoes are best for dry weather conductions.

HOW DO RAUM SHOES GROUND YOU?

Raum utilizes two different grounding technologies. Their newest Mecca line grounds wearers via grippy rubber soles that are infused with conductive carbon; these soles connect to conductive silver threading in the insoles to deliver ground energy into the feet.

All other Raum grounding shoes utilize naturally conductive leather soles that are augmented with highly conductive copper rivets. Raum styles with leather soles include lace-ups, slides, and all non-Mecca slip ons.

MECCA slip-on conductive elements: carbon and silver

Raum Mecca slip-ons ground you via carbon-infused rubber outsoles that then transfer Earth energy into the feet through pure silver conductive stitching in the insoles. Rubber outsoles offer more traction and durability, especially on wet surfaces.

Both copper and leather are naturally conductive and become even more so when the feet sweat. The copper rivets, which are hand-hammered through the soles, are also strategically positioned to activate the KD 1 acupuncture points of the feet.

Mecca Slip Ons

Raum’s newest style features silky suede or pebbled leather uppers with buttery soft leather lining, cotton laces and carbonized rubber soles for optimal traction.

An optimal mix of classic and modern grounding shoe designs, Meccas are available in three styles for women and men.

Mudcloth Slip-Ons

These very special, limited-batch grounding shoes with leather and copper soles feature uppers that are handmade in Mali, Africa from authentic 100% cotton mudcloth, and fully lined with sheepskin. Each pair is one of a kind!

Natural sheepskin-lined smooth, leather uppers are hand-sewn with copper-enhanced, water buffalo leather soles to create simple elegance and ease of attiring.

Greater comfort comes with wear, as the leather inner soles become smoother and the uppers mold to the feet. Three styles available for women.

“Verrrrry nice & comfy shoes - my first pair of slides and I love them! In just 2-3 days of wear, the soft leather uppers have broken in and contain my feet with just the right amount of resistance. And the leather inner soles are also becoming smoother. It took my toes a few days to get used to the feel of the cotton waxed thread at the top of the inner soles.

Also, because the outer soles are also leather, I'm wary of slipping, but have yet to lose my footing in them - so far so good! These shoes are definitely best for dry conditions, as high quality leather is prone to water damage. Walking the line between elegant and casual, they’re charming additions to a warm-weather wardrobe.
